DDMP Talkshow: Design for the better

INDEX award nominees tell us how they make a diffference in the world through design.

How can we make an impact with design? As urgent matters like climate change are increasingly the topic of debate, designers are working on possible solutions. By producing locally, using the newest technologies and taking their social responsibility seriously, these creators are at the front lines of design and production. This evening, international creative game changers and INDEX Award nominees will present their ideas on the future of design by using local material supply chains and digital fabrication. Can we truly change the world?

These designers aim to change the world of fabrication by focussing on the movement of data, using local material supply chains and digital fabrication. How can this become the new standard for production?

DDMP & INDEX AWARDS

What is Distributed Design? Meet a new field emerging from the intersection of two global trends: the Maker Movement and the digitisation of the design discipline. This convergence has lead to the rise of a new market, in which creative individuals have access to digital tools that allow them to design, produce and fabricate products themselves and easily connect to a global network of tools and collaborators to undertake aspects of this process with them: the Distributed Design Market Platform. INDEX is a platform that supports design to improve life. The INDEX Awards is the world’s largest monetary prize worth €500.000 and inspires, educates and engages designers in designing sustainable solutions to global challenges.
