The cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, the Hague, Utrecht and the metropolitan region of Amsterdam are world-wide frontrunners in facilitating electric driving by rolling out public charging stations. This afternoon you will get to know everything about the roll-out of public charging infrastructure. We present practical tools to monitor the performance of charging stations, evaluations of policy measures, models to simulate future scenarios, and more research results.
This afternoon we will charge you up with practical knowledge and applicable outcomes of four years of research on public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles at the Amsterdam University of Applied Science (AUAS). Together with our partners, the G4 cities and the metropolitan region Amsterdam electric (MRA-E) we developed knowledge on specific user groups like taxis and shared fleets, we simulated future scenarios like growth of the number of electric vehicles (EVs) on the road, growth of battery size of EVs, we calculated the potential for smart charging in order to reduce the impact of EV charging on the electricity grid, and much more. Six different Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) research projects will present their results: IDO-laad, SEEV4-City, Flexpower, U-Smile, National Dataplatform Smart Charging, and SIMULAAD.
