TOWARDS A DOUGHNUT-PROOF REGIONAL ECONOMY WITH KATE RAWORTH

Amsterdam will be one of the first doughnut cities. Renegade economist and doughnut creator Kate Raworth and Amsterdam deputy-mayor Marieke van Doorninck will present what this means for the integral approach to energy, waste and materials in the city. Meet all circular initiatives in the region and join the afternoon workshop to make your own organization doughnut proof.

Doughnut economics is not only about reducing CO2 emissions, waste or protecting biodiversity. No, everything – from chemical and air pollution to income and social equality – has to fit within the social and planetary boundaries of the doughnut.

Amsterdam embraces this idea and has teamed up with Kate and Circle Economy to create a roadmap towards a doughnut proof city. Together they will present this doughnut city during the WeMakeThe.City festival.

At the same time all 116 circular initiatives within the city and several innovative project within the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area will meet at Circl. Businesses, scientists, creative entrepreneurs and local and regional authorities will get together at a lively market place with speed dates, soap box presentations en in-depth sessions to make new connections.

And you can see what it takes to make your own organization doughnut proof in the afternoon workshop with Kate Raworth. Be part of the doughnut movement in the city and join this sizzling melting pot of doughnut enthusiasts.
