Let’s Get Serious About Plastic

How can we work towards a plastic smart city?

Amsterdam wants to sort 65 percent of all waste in 2020 – the number is now only 28 percent. Plastic is one of the most commonly used and discarded materials in the world, so how can we help and challenge businesses, workers, and residents across the city reduce their reliance on single-use plastics?

Plastic waste is an enormous threat to our environment, climate and existence. As the world continues to urbanise, cities play a significant part in the plastic consumption that ends up in the oceans. But cities can also play an important role in reducing the plastic waste. From banning of plastic bags to smart recycling centers and collaborating with industries. During this conference we discuss and present initiatives on how we can move towards a plastic smart city.
