Meena Kaunisto was until recently director of the Finnish Cultural Institute in Paris. She is a keynote speaker at the Urban Talk Guest City Helsinki on Wednesday 19 June.
Kaunisto renewed the concept of the Finnish Institute in Paris, which is situated opposite the Sorbonne and the Cluny Museum. By bringing together culture, the creative sector, art and business and collaborating with the surrounding city elements, the Finnish Institute became part of the Parisian culture. It is now a cultural laboratory that focuses on various socio-cultural projects, such as debates and exhibitions. Before that Kaunisto was a producer in theater field in Finland and head of Copyright in the biggest Finnish publishing company. She was also a producer of documentaries mainly in Africa, Finland and France.
