WeMakeThe.City in Zuid

In Amsterdam-Zuid (South) there will be a lot of fun, but also very interesting and inspiring programmes to visit. In the WTC building there are various sessions where the future of energy is discussed extensively. Next to that, there are some great neighbourhood initiatives that contribute to a sustainable future. Enjoy and learn!

At Buurtbuik volunteers and locals pick up leftover food from companies and turn it into a tasty dinner. You are invited to have a delicious free meal together with the neighbourhood residents at four different locations throughout the city. Tasty, fun and sustainable! Sign up for free.

During the conference ‘Normaal Amsterdams Klimaat’ (Normal Amsterdam Climate), Waternet puts climate adaptation high on its agenda, ensuring the region remains resilient in times of extreme weather. To preserve a safe, economically competitive and liveable region, we need to make sure there exists a level of cooperation between governments, project developers, real estate owners, investors, companies, educational institutions, contractors and local residents. Soak up new knowledge at this conference!

Also come by at the ZuiderMRKT. They strive to sell as many organic products as possible. The vegetable stand is entirely supplied with biodynamic produce. Together with the other entrepreneurs, they work towards increasingly organic and sustainable methods for producing their crops. They also serve as the neighbourhood’s meeting point. Taste and connect in the Concertgebouw area on Saturday June 23.
