Tom Meades
Tom Maedes has a background as a sustainable product designer, working with startups, specialising in the reuse of waste plastic. He also has experience in developing and conceptualising technology products, and an educator in sustainable design and craft practices. Together with a team he created Gomi Design with which they create beautiful minimal sustainable tech products made from flexible plastic waste. The project got nominated for the INDEX Award because they show that there is an alternative way that utilises circular economic principles and complete waste materials to make technology products out of. Their first product is a revolutionary bluetooth speaker made from plastic trash that would otherwise end up in landfill or the oceans.
