Sandi Hilal

Architect and urban planner Sandi Hilal focuses on urban sociology and planning. Hilal is the co-founder of Decolonising Architecture. She will share her story during the Opening Night on 17 June, Architecture of Hope and Temporariness x Temporality on 18 June.

Hilal was head of the Infrastructure and Camp Improvement Program for UNWRWA, and presented the Palestinian pavilion together with Alessandro Petti at the Venice Biennale in 2003. Together with Petti and Eyal Weizman she created DAAR (Decolonizing Architecture Art Residency) in Beit Sahour (Palestine), which was awarded the Prins Claus Award in 2010.
