Carolien Gehrels (Amsterdam) is managing director Big Urban Clients (BUC) at consultancy and engineering company Arcadis. From 2006 to 2010, she was Alderperson for Arts and Culture, Local Media, Sports and Recreation, Businesses, Participations and Purchases. During her second term as Alderperson, from 2006-2010, she was responsible for Economic Affairs, Arts and Culture, Monuments, Water, Local Media, Businesses, Participations and Purchases. After 8 years in the City Council, she quit as an Alderperson and re-entered the business world, starting at Arcadis.
